K-Movie: The Con Artists/The Technician (2014)

Synopsis (Asianwiki):

Ji-Hyeok (Kim Woo-Bin) is an elite safe-cracker and counterfeiter. He works with Koo-In (Ko Chang-Seok) who introduces him to elite hacker Jong-Bae (Lee Hyun-Woo). There's rumors that Jong-Bae has betrayed other partners in his past. Nevertheless, the trio decide to work together to steal valuable diamonds held within a secret vault at a a high-end jewelry store. The jewelry store is owned by President Jo (Kim Young-Chul).

Meanwhile, President Jo is in search of an elite safe-cracker to help him steal millions of dollars stored within a Korean customs area in Incheon, South Korea.

Review: 

Film menceritakan tentang Ji Hyeok yang bisa dibilang adalah seorang pencuri elite, dimana ia ekspert dalam membobol brangkas besi dan melakukan segala tindak penipuan  bersama partner in crime nya Koo In. Kemudian ia merekrut Jong Bae, seorang hacker handal untuk bekerja sama dalam sebuah misi pembobolan toko berlian.

Di sisi lain, president Jo seorang businessman sedang mencari sekolompok pencuri handal untuk membantunya membobol brangkas yang berada di area bea-cukai di Incheon yang terkeal dengan sistem keamanan yang sulit ditembus. Berangkas tersebut berisi jutaan won yang merupakan dana simpanan para pejabat di Korea. 

Dengan reputasi buruk Presiden Jo dan rumor akan Jong Bae yang berhianat dari rekan-rekan terdahulunya, kepercayaan akan satu sama lain menjadi sebuah masalah tersendiri sehingga membuat misi sulit menjadi sesuatu yang lebih impossible. Apakah mereka berhasil menjalankan misi besar tersebut, atau malah sibuk merencanakan misi yang menguntungkan mereka secara individual. 

The story tells about Ji Hyeok who should we called it an elite thief whom expert at cracking safe-cracker and counterfeit almost everything with his partner in crime Koo In. Later he recruited Jong Bae, the elite hacker to join him in his new mission to steal a valuable diamond.

On the other hand, a nasty businessman, President Jo are looking for elite group of safe cracker to help him steal million dollars that safe on the Korean custom are in Incheon who known have a tight security. 

With the bad reputation on President Jo's hand, and the rumor about Jong Bae betrayal on his previous partner. They certainly have trust issues towards one another, and that makes these hard mission become mission impossible. Could they overcame those issue and smoothly do the mission, or they turn their heels and busy making their own advantage mission. 

Sekali lagi, alasan utama nonton film ini karena ada Kim Woobin dan Lee Hyunwoo, dua aktor ganteng di satu film, siapa yang gak mau lihat? Tapi ternyata ceritanya juga gak mengecewakan, meskipun mengambil tema yang sudah cukup pasaran di duniar perfileman Korea (pencuri handal yang membobol sesuatu yang hampir tidak mungkin dibobol). Alurnya dikemas apik sehingga penonton dibuat melongo saat disuguhkan dengan plot twist diakhir film. Karena bukan film action, jadi penonton tidak bisa berharap banyak akan banyak adegan action, tapi selebihnya adegan-adegan keren saat JiHyeok membobol brangkas, JongBae menghack sesuatu dari komputernya dan rencana-rencana briliant yang dirancang oleh mereka bertiga cukup membuat kagum dan memuaskan penonton dan tentunya menjadi nilai lebih bagi film ini.

Again, Kim Woobin and Lee Hyunwoo are the main reason why I watch this movie. Two good-looking actors playing at in the same movie, that's the dream! but let's talk about the story.  Despite another badass elite thieves theme on Korean Movie, this overall storyline are not disappointing. The storyline is neatly arrange that awe the viewers through their twisted ending. Because this movie isn't really an action movie, we better not be expecting lot of badass action scene, but for making that up we could see some badass safe-cracking from Ji Hyeok, and awesome hacking scene from Jong Bae and a lot of brilliant plan that they throw through the movie.

Untuk akting, belum bisa menilai banyak. Peran Kim Woobin disini dibilang mirip dengan peran-peran ia sebelumnya sebagai bad boy, dan karena adegan action yang juga minim belum bisa menandai akting bagus dari aktor ganteng tersebut. Bagi Lee Hyunwoo sendiri, karena ia berperansebagai hacker, jadi lebih banyak adegan ia di depan komputer sehingga tidak banyak scene-scene memukau buat Lee Hyun Woo berbeda dengan perannya bersama Kim Soo Hyun di Secretly Greatly.  Ko Chang Seok sebagai aktor paling senior, bisa dibilang melakukan tugasnya dengan baik sebagai partner dari Kim Woobin. 

Overall, it was a really nice movie. With a good plot, handsome and good actors and great plot twist in the end.
